I agree with you, If you create numerical goals and milestones that are immediately visible to the eye, you can see progress as you achieve them.

That is the way to do goal setting. When you set a goal, ask your self if it meets all of the criteria and keep working on it until it does. It is critical. Then TAKE ACTION!!!

I told myself I would run a marathon in my 20s but I let time slip away. 2023 I’ve spent the whole year doing races and running. February 2024 is the marathon…..my goal is to finish it, and prove to myself I can accomplish and commit to this goal. I’ll be 34 in March…..I just have to keep telling myself I must complete this goal now, so when I’m 44 I won’t regret not following through with this goal.

What does this mean? It means I’ll be proud of myself🥰

It also means I’ve marked another adventure off my bucket list so I won’t get old and have regrets.

Doesn't matter how specific you are in goal setting if something external happens, changes your life and prevents you from achieving this goal

at the age of 17 I decided to be a Chef. I graduated CCA in 86 and had a chef position 9 years after I made this choice. At that point I made another goal, white hat hacker, that took another 10 years. this is just my experience, the take away is yours.

They might achieve exactly what they want sooner but they also put themselves under immense pressure which is never healthy and sooner or later fires back on them. That’s something no one talks about because yeah, we need a “positive” content, because that’s what’s trending.

There is no difference. Everyone's walk in life is different. What God has for you, may be different for me. Maybe - that said goal, just wasn't meant to be. Now if all your goals aren't being met .. then don't worry.. God will help you (me)
