You should checkout the stairs at Monticello the home of Thomas Jefferson. If I remember right the stairs in this video were wider. It's so dangerous that tourist are not allowed on the second floor.

I grew in a Victorian terrace house the stairs were steep, I fell down them a few times, never broke anything but it hurt, come to think of it my family home I saw a blonde little girl standing on the stairs when I was about 6 or 7, maybe she died falling down them, obviously she wasn’t of this world but being young I just saw a child like me .

I don't like to be picky, but "Downtown Abbey" is set in the Edwardian era, not the Victorian.

I don't live in a Victorian but my house is 103 years old and the stairs in it are more narrow and the handrail is much lower. I don't know how many times I've fallen down those stairs in the last 20 years but it's a lot.

My father built hundreds of homes during his lifetime and the terms for a staircase is rise and run. Rise being the height of each stair and run being the depth of each stair

Well Jim, I'm glad Tiktok views are more important than safety.

Do people really have to be told that going viral is not important?

I laugh at this after I’ve been to the Anne Frank house and other homes in the Netherlands. The stairs are scary steep.
