In this video, we talk about the most common complaint that brings people into the ER- abdominal pain. We go through gathering a good history on the patient and find out what assessment questions the ER nurse should ask. We also see how the patient is diagnosed: labs, UA, CT, US, or KUB. From there we talk about what certain lab findings indicate. We briefly touch on clinical diagnoses including gastritis, diverticulitis, obstruction, appendicitis, and constipation. Lastly, we see how to treat the patient and what the final disposition depends on. New grad ER nurses, welcome and get prepared for your next shift!

May I ask why would an eye examination, after a seizure like activity warrant an abdominal ct scan ?
This happened to me I was having a seizure and neurological issues the intern checked my eyes and had a nurse confirm something then the intern told me we need to do abdominal ct scan, that didn't happen and I was discharged as having non-epileptic seizures which I don't agree with.
I had an operation a few days later for another issue and had an incidental finding of a rectal nodule which wasn't bisioped and was told it was DIE bowel endometriosis which I'm wondering now if that's the case.

You don't seem to mention anything in the ovaries area. Endometriosis, cyst ruptures, and just more on pelvic as apart of the lower area.
