One of my teachers that I had worked with on the 5th grade raised my second semester grade because I was very active and nice during her class. She didn't raise anyone else's grade, apart from mine. I was so happy because otherwise I wouldn't have gotten the bursary I got that year, and that's probably why she raised my grade in the first place.

I don’t get why people are so scared about asking their teachers about extra credit or retaking tests. It’s literally their job to work with students, and it doesn’t hurt to ask. I’ve been asking them since middle school and now I’m in my senior year.

Back in JHS, I was always afraid to ask teachers, so I either accepted my nearly failing grade or waited for them to give additional activities or grades. I think it's because most of us were raised to "get it right the first time." It was in SHS when I realized that teachers are very open, and would actually entertain you, well... It depends on the teacher, I guess.

Edit: For anyone asking, I'm from the Philippines. JHS means Junior High School and SHS means Senior High School. It's a kinda confusing system since not long ago, we didn't have grades 11-12, so high school was just 7-10, which is I think middle school-freshman in other countries. Generally, we consider 11-12 as Senior High School, not Junior-Senior. But my school follows the Junior-Senior system.

In my college, a lot of professors would laugh at you if you asked them for extra credit to raise ur bad grade before the semester ends. A.lot would ask why you didn't ask for more help during the semester instead...

I was expecting this to be one of those videos were they tell you some bs trick that apparently will give you photographic memory or something, but no this is genuinely good advice. Teachers (in general) want you to succeed and reaching out to them for help is something many teachers want their students who are struggling to do.

I literally just did this and raised my grade from an 87 to a 90. I was struggling in math and got a couple of 70's on some tests. So I really wanted to raise my grade because I knew that if I just left it like that it was going to get worse the next semester. I wanted a fresh start with a decent grade. Yes, I know it's a B, but it could've gotten lower if I messed up one more time the next semester, so I wanted to get it a bit higher just in case. I'm so glad I did this, I just wish it hadn't been last minute lol

Yes but my teacher said in the SYLLABUS FOR THE CLASS that she will never give any extra credit opportunities or credit for late assignments.
