My Disappointing White House Tour 2023

My disappointing tour of The White House (but that's OK). What is on your Washington DC bucket list? The White House is a common one but I am doing an honest perspective. There is so much to see in DC that I am not sure I would recommend soemone to wait 1 hour and try to find bag storage to visit this place.

Bro complained about no purses and 3 levels of security at the WHITE HOUSE 😂😂

Complaining about leaving your purse outside and going through three layers of security to get into the White House is PEAK American entitlement.

I don't mean to be rude, but if you put your phone down and took it all in you may have enjoyed it more.

Goes to a historic landmark, doesn't learn any history first, gets mad, yeah sounds like middle class Starbucks girl to me

It’s the White House! You can’t just go up and ring the doorbell and wander around anywhere you like!
Be grateful that it is secure and safe. As a Brit I have been to the White House 3 times but obviously not allowed a tour inside but would love to get inside and soak up the history of that remarkable symbol of your country.

One benefit of the White House tours now is that you’re allowed to take photos with your phone. This wasn’t always the case. One thing that tends to disappoint people though is that the Oval Office is not part of the regular tour. To see that, you have to know someone who works there.

I went on a White House tour at Christmas time in 1998. It was beautifully decorated for the holidays and the guides gave us the history of many of the rooms. Perhaps you weren’t paying attention.

Well I mean what did you expect? Of course they're not gonna let you run around gleefully through the most important person's house.

What a whiner. Oh no, you had to go through security. You got an opportunity to visit a great place with an amazing history.

I took the Congressional Guided Tour. I got tickets from my Congressman. If they still offer that, it is better than the public tour.

I loved it 💙
😂 it’s one of the most famous addresses in the world 🌎 and it’s free of charge.
Research or not, I will never forget how special I felt being there.

I visited the George W White House. I asked the security guard if all the windows are bullet proof. He asked me, “what do you think?” I told him I thought they were. Then my wife told me to stop talking and asking questions like that before we get kicked out! 😬I was pretty quiet the rest of the time. Enjoyed it very much!!

When I was a kid in the 1980's, my family went to Washington D.C. and we waited a couple of hours at the Ellipse area to obtain free tickets for a White House tour. As I remember, we had a tour guide who actually took us through and gave us information about each room we were taken to. I guess times have definitely changed!

It's like Buckingham Palace. Oppressive security and you barely get to see 0.5% of it.

I went on a tour in this aguest and i loved it. I saw everything you did and to be honest it’s kinda worth it waiting in the heat, but when i went it was not hot it was cold, so you were waiting in the cold.

When I lived in DC (1980), ever so often they'd announce in a corner of the Post that the WH and GROUNDS would be open from 1-4 or 2-5. It was something NOT for tourists per se.
But when I went as a tourist in 1960s late all we saw were the rooms she mentioned. And that was it.

Did you notice that they sell guide books for the White House? They're great books with photos & text - begun by Mrs. Kennedy. There are all types of tours. Try being self reliant and do your own research before going anywhere!
