Was messing around with my acoustic in the shed and started playing this, now can't stop. Thanks for showing the real thing, going to be playing this a LOT! :-)

Thanks for making this and making it so simple. On the descending part--When I've seen them play live, instead of descending with single notes starting on the B on the 6th string, he'd do chords starting at the 12 and 14 fret, 5th and 4th string respectively, and just go down the neck--which sounds and looks pretty cool

Thanks for this. You reminded me how much fun this song is. I heard it so many million times I was board with it. Now I need to work on this. ❤❤❤

awesome...tip for everyone. Play an A9 to more easily switch to the inverted E chord (from beginning).

One of my dads favorites, he jumped on drums the moment he heard it, MARTYMUSIC is the best!

Good stuff! The sax solo and the guitar interlude have always been "dark spots" for me that I kinda fumble through when I play this. This has been really helpful, thank you.

Nice job Marty. You don't see too many Bruce tutorials on YT. Growing up in Jersey, the song takes me back. Thanks

Hi Marty. Love the acoustic version of Growin’ Up so I’d love for you to break that one down. Thanks for all the great lessons!

Not Max. T'was Ernest "Boom" Carter that played on this track. However, it's understood that many may not realize that Springsteen had interim musicians playing with him in '75 until he was satisfied with his roster. Fun fact (yeah I have a 13 year old): Max said he could never duplicate the drum fills that Carter used on the album track (starting around 2:42 on the BTR album track). When you hear it, I can understand why. Ernest is blasting the hat, the snare and kick in split seconds. That small piece of drumming is absolutely sick.

Really, the best tutorial on this song out there. Marty rocks the Boss.

Just a super lesson for this song. I'm in process doing a drum cover, but I play a little guitar too, so, I may try an acoustic cover as well. Could never do it without a lesson like this! I think I can do it, but i couldn't figure it out on my own. All the best Marty!

Great lesson, Marty! Love the way you simplified it a smidge to make it playable on acoustic without just making it the E-A-B nonsense that a few other teachers do. Can you do the same for Badlands?

This is my favorite song of all time. Since I first heard it. If I learn this, will it ruin the song for me? Nah you cant get sick of this!
You are soo good at this Marty. Thank you!!
Still looking for a playable version of Riannon if you got one. Not that you havent done enough!
