fucking great lesson. you know the best part? He didn't over explain, he didn't assume I know shit, he just played and let me see what he was doing, added the tabs and then he left me with a valuable lesson., thank you, thank you, thank you.

It's quite a bit after the video was posted but this helped me connect with my grandpa in a way I wasn't able to while he was alive. He had a cover band when he was younger in the 60s n 70s. Played only CCR and Steppenwolf songs and now I'm learning the CCR songs. This has been by far the easiest video to learn from.

The most complete guitar lesson on Youtube on this song, Tab with correct rhythmic structure, chord diagrams, perfect execution. I can't really understand the few dislikes. Good job!

Thanks for the video! I reckon the best place to learn how to play that wonderful section at 1:40 in this vid is the film of CCR playing this song at Woodstock. Fogerty plays it at the 7th & 9th fret with some great subtle details. It sounds exactly like he did it on the record. Nowadays even he plays that section differently!

Bruce, when it comes down to imitating John Fogerty, you're just simply,

Very good lesson indeed! I first picked up this song during the early seventies, playing on the jukebox, while moving on the floor of the bar-café with my girlfriend.
'Moving from the E7 to the D shape': I did it by moving my little finger from the 3rd (G) string to the 2nd (B) string, starting from the E7 on the 5th fret. As far as I can see it, that's what JF is doing.
Amp setting: just a bit of tremolo and some gentle distortion during the solo part in the middle of the song.

Glad you posted this song. When I spent about ( about 8 hours, hate to say, I'm slow by ear ) learning this by ear about 2 years ago. Seeing how it's pretty long I think about as long as Ted Nugents strangle hold song, about 7 minute's, maybe I'm off by couple minutes but .
I like the E7 intro and the main pattern, well i guess I like the lead intro & the chord rest off lead, and the little repeated bridge ending with E d A crashes I think, and i like the way he changes up the main pattern with the repeated tails sometimes with different counts Then the little repeated bridge riff again, think a hair different and definitely a different tail
