This is a quick little video I made about a handy little tool I have here for my sawmill. It’s nothing special but it does keep me out of trouble when ever I end up paying for logs. (I mostly cut storm damage and stuff off our farm but occasionally buy logs)

The Doyle scale is one of the most widely used scales for estimating board footage in logs however there are other scales that are different but they do the same thing. I use the Doyle simply because I found this old folding scale in antique shop and I love old tools. The thing is this old tool still gets produced you can find some similar in style on Amazon. I highly recommend picking one up if you own or work at a sawmill. (Chances are you already have one if you work at a mill)

Either way I wanted to post a longer video than the short I made in my shop. Better videos on the way new mic and tripod coming! Like and subscribe for more!
