Kudos for posting a video from a day when you didn't get a bite. We've all been there, and it shows you're serious about the project.

You should keep a list of all the lakes you don’t catch fish in for the year, then do a pt.2 of each lake using the top three recommendations from the comments. Like this lake maybe slower retrieval, different time of day, different lures or whatever the top three are.

"Ill use the wind to drift back"...famous last words for kayakers 😅.

The wind loves to change direction when its time to head back lol. Great video!

Wait until the sun warms up the water some this time of year. Midday or evenings are usually best. Might need to slow the retrieve like someone said too. All things you may already know. Good stuff though, I love exploring new waters!

Major respect to you for doing it the right way by going through the public land instead of the easy way by going through private property

For panfish, I throw red worms on a little #6 Aberdeen hook with split shot about 8” from the hook. I’ll set my bobber so it’s just off the bottom and I have great luck catching basically unlimited bluegill from any dock.

I can’t wait to watch these videos on YouTube. Me and the guys in high school used to talk about hidden gems as well. In our area the best lake to catch huge bass was located close to a Casey’s gas station and had zero public access. It was a five-ish acre lake (pond) located in an area surrounded by lakes that would be conventionally good fishing.

When its really cold you want to do a slower retrieve i bet there are some big pike in there

Since there isn’t a larger lake connecting that lake with a river or creek, there isn’t any fish outside of minnows, or bullheads. If it was part of a chain of lakes, then fish would arrive and leave depending on the season and water temperatures. We have ponds that are 10-15 feet deep, that get 3 ft of ice, and no additional oxygen in the winter, that a stream would provide. They freeze out frequently.

another sweet video. i have one small recommendation for you; would be much better without any music at all, your commentary is great. , but if you feel it’s necessary then switch up the songs as this song is growing very old very fast

I live down in the twin cities and fish the river.

Caught 5 or 6 fish on spinners that I threw because of this series!

Make a video of how you try to find lakes

Try a quarter ounce wait with a Barbara above that and a rubber band to adjust for depth you'll catch tons of panfish oh and also use maggots instead of worms and you will catch tons of bluegill with that setup

I’ve had some really awesome perch fishing on shallow bog lakes like this

Whatever sled you get make sure it has reverse bud. Youll thank me later.

I know Wisconsin pike like a nice mister twister tail on spinners and chatterbaits. Pretty much anything big enough to eat a twister will.
