That was comedy gold, especially the springs, it was like a clown's car, I was waiting for the doors to fall off.

I don’t think many of us know the smell when you take the cover off a speedboat Matt 😂

Keep doing these sort of videos please, not only is it entertaining but it gives a glimpse into how people look after their cars, which majority of the time seems really badly. I can concur about the condition some cars are, as a trader myself. Great video.

That part with the loud noise which made you duck made me laugh so much a bubble came out and I had to blow my nose! Cheers mate! Good decision to sell it on 👍

You know a car is a bucket when even the car doesn't want you to enter 🤣Brilliant video as always!

“For 57k miles surely it can’t be too bad” … very famous last words 😂😂

I really love that most times when you do these cheap car videos, that if you think the car is crap in the first place, they turn out pretty well but as soon as you´re a bit excited you receive a total bucket...
Anyways, another great video :)

That was bang on with the woman’s names who’d drive a beetles. I had a neighbour called Julie, guess what she drove!

I love your channel, we appear to be very similar humans to a degree.

However it did bring a nostalgic smile to my chops, watching your initial appraisal of this new acquisition

I was swanning around the motor trade for about 30 years, and the adrenalin of going to the main dealer after buying 6 or 8 cars (in a job lot),
that were described over the phone by a slightly wonky salesman is something even to this day I really miss.

I can tell you now, I have bought some pure gold, as well as pure mullock

It is such a mixed bag of a career, you never know what would land on your lap from one day to the next.

The most fun filled days of my life revolved around second hand cars, and the thrill of the chase.

Thanks for the videos, they are not only factually accurate, but also well presented.

I was exactly the same as you to some extent, wanting to rescue every stray dog of a car from the tip, but you are right about being more realistic with deciding if its a lost cause.

Best wishes.

That broken spring is hilarious, it's like the bonging sound of a knackered old bed. 🙂

I always check out your videos but I honestly haven’t laughed as much as I have at this one 😂

From a C3 Picasso where everything worked barring possibly the engine, to a Beetle where possibly the only thing that works is the engine... not having much luck, Matt.

This was the lemon we've been waiting for! - But you took it on the chin like a gentleman, Matt, fair play to you. And at least you got to ping that pink love-heart with all the cynicism you could muster! 😂

Hey not all Beetles are like this one! I own one myself with the 1.6L engine & 5 speed manual transmission & i can't fault mine as it's been a really reliable & problem free car. I've owned mine for a fair while now & intent to keep it for more years to come! Also, believe me, they are worth fixing as the value for them has skyrocketed, specially here in Australia 🇦🇺 I paid $10, 000 for mine over 2 years ago & mine is a 2006!

One of the funniest reviews I’ve seen. An absolute lemon this car. 😂 done the right thing just trading it on. You win some, you lose some! 😅

Great video as always Matt. So interesting to see the downs as well as the ups to car trading.

One of the things I like about these less successful adventures Matt is the feeling of smugness I get because I do take great care of my cars. Cheers old boy 😁
