The first one he dropped his hand after the punch the second time he brought his hand back to a defense position

Important note as newbie Yes bring this back, as skill improves than it might be possible to use this common mistake to advantage. Showing your opponent that you drop your jab which makes him respond to take advantage and then respond accordingly. Boxing is a game of strategy and skill. Never make a mistake without a reason behind it. Learn the general rules and pitfalls first then you might be able to bend them appropriately. This is advanced knowledge, a way of thinking about boxing, but the rule is return your jab to your face. Only until you understand this more deeply then you will be able to use it more deeply.

Pointers in case you didnt catch it!

1
No leaning in: in the incorrect form you can see that its almost like hes pushing his body forward slightly to get the jab out, snap your jabs, they arent KO punches

2
Pouring out coffee: when you snap your jab imagine pouring out a cup of coffee, your thumb should rotate down on the jab

3
Bring it back: once you shoot out your jab, bring it back quickly to its original position infront your face. This protects against counter punches

4
Telegraphing: although i didnt see it in the incorrect form, a common problem with beginners is slightly pulling your jab back before throwing it, this slight backward movement to seemingly create more power can be observed by more experienced fighters as an indicator to an incoming jab

What he is saying is instead of stopping at the Face push through dealing more trauma to the nose for a bigger stun for your hook, uppercut, overhand, Etc. (A jab of any sort is meant to stun and/or distract your opponent)

That jab has the most potential destructive effects 😂

Thank you for this, I’ve been for sure doing the first (and wrong) jab. I’ll work on it 😅

His lead foot should be stepping into the jab, whilst the lead foot landing on the floor upon impact of the jab. Also whilst thrusting off the back foot. Good comparison with the difference in getting your punch back to guard and just leaving your face open for a shot, but more footwork needed.
