There's a potentially negative outcome of the end of daylight saving time: seasonal depression. When we fall back, the sun rises and sets an hour earlier. That can disrupt our natural rhythm and cause seasonal affective disorder. Psychiatrist Dr. Sue Varma joins "CBS This Morning" to discuss how to avoid the possible impact.

Each weekday morning, "CBS This Morning" co-hosts Gayle King, Anthony Mason and Tony Dokoupil deliver two hours of original reporting, breaking news and top-level newsmaker interviews in an engaging and informative format that challenges the norm in network morning news programs. The broadcast has earned a prestigious Peabody Award, a Polk Award, four News & Documentary Emmys, three Daytime Emmys and the 2017 Edward R. Murrow Award for Best Newscast. The broadcast was also honored with an Alfred I. duPont-Columbia Award as part of CBS News division-wide coverage of the shootings at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut. Hi, thank you for the info. I just started noticing that I have been getting affected with Seasonal Depression the past three years. I can sleep almost all day with only being out of bed for maybe 4 hours tops on my days off. I noticed that I withdraw from social interaction, this was the point that made me realize what was going on. I am a people person. The withdrawal is more apparent observed by other people than I thought. I hate it!!!!

I learned to keep my worries, my anxieties, my paranoia, and most opinions concealed because it pushes many people away, however, I believe in transparency .

The first week is rough. Why are we STILL rolling the clocks back?
Federal law prohibits states from switching to permanent daylight saving time. Makes no sense 🙄

So its obvious that 20 mins outside per day is not nearly enough. Unless you live somewhere flat i guess then why would you want to go outside anyways
