The name Erasmus comes from the Greek word erotao, which means to ask or to question

I think the story of Erasmus and Serena Butler was highly glossed over. First of all, she was only pregnant with Manion when she was capture. Erasmus enjoyed having conversations with Serena. She didn't hide her feelings that she hated being a slave. Erasmus had never encountered a strong-willed human being. To that point, humans on Earth had never known of freedom or anything but living in terror of the Thinking Machines.
When Manion was born Erasmus became annoyed that she took away time from her that could be spent talking with him. The first bad thing happened when she tried to have to have some alone time; Erasmus took her and sterilized her!
The next incident resulted in Erasmus getting fed up and taking Manion Butler screaming up 4 stories, then dropped him to the "plaz" floor below.
And that's the trigger for the Butlerian Jihad.

He managed to, over a period of a few millennia, develop what seems to be genuine human emotions and reactions. It's the most philosophical part of the prequels; the implication being that these robots were essentially blank templates that _could_ become personlike, under the right conditions. They had the hardware for it but very, very rarely ever had the opportunities and experiences for it to actually happen because they were constantly being synced, tasked, and essentially reprogrammed by the collective periodically. Absent that, they could become individuals and in time... people, almost

This sounds like it was generated by NotebookLM.

Erasmus was one of my favourite characters. Loved to hate him.

Erasmus did not "find Gilbertus Albanus". Omnius picked the most incorrigble kid from the slave pens and gave Eramus the TASK of watching out for him. Erasmus gave him the name Gilbertus Albanus because it souned fancy. He didn't even have a name befort that.

Sorry, we are never winning against God-like AI or extraterrestrials. Actually, both may end up being the same thing.

Best character in fiction imo..even better when scott brick narrates him.

You neglected to mention the little known fact that Erasmus was named after the 80’s British synth-pop band, Erasure

How did Erasmus actually “enter” a human body?

Ah Erasmus the thinking independent robot we all love to hate! Reading the first books, i was horrified by his atrocities committed on slaves from his pens in the labs 😲😵‍💫😞. But then the ultimate attocity yhat began the Jihad (i think this was planned by him to try and upset Omnius, another of his weird experiments 🤔🤖) Another good video, this yime you stuck to Dune shots and book cover shots i like it! Sub and likes for all you videos 👍😁

Frankly, I think humans are overrated.

You forgot to mention the most important thing about Erasmus, that he is a fan fiction created character and just because Brian holds the legal rights to the Dune name, his "expansions" are nothing more then a gross cash grab from a talentless hack.
