These are the ones who do the real work, the work nurses used to do.

Im currently looking into this as a career change, after 24 years military service, currently im also a clinical volunteer with my local trust, hold functional skills level 1 and 2 in maths, english and science as well as well as clinical experience prior to enlistment. These videos are invaluble to potential candidates wanting to step into healthcare sector.

I don't know one long term HCA that seems happy with the job . Been on the bank as HCA for 6yrs worked in every type of ward and I'm also a student nurse now . No offence to any HCA I'm one myself and I know everyone needs to earn money to feed Thier family, however I don't advice anyone to get into it long term . Being a HCA id a hard thankless job and u will be worked into the ground, I'm glad I done it as I gained lots of life experience and it made me a better person , however I only wish I moved on sooner.

This video shows the HCA working in a GP surgery (health centre ), doing OBS and taking bloods etc, jobs like that are hard to come by and u will most likely be in a understaffed care of elderly ward up to Ur knees in piss and shit, whilst trying to stop about 6patients from climbing out of bed at same time .trust me I know healthcare

I am doing A levels at the moment, and i want to go in a gap year after year 13 and i was thinking to apply for health care assistant in that time to get some experience before applying for nursing degree apprenticeship. Is that possible to get temporary job for 1 year? and I want to start volunteering in half term holidays too, will they be able to accept me if i just had volunteer experience? (Just in case i will do a course in phlebotomy too after a level)
