Prof Nalapat is absolutely correct in saying that Xi has just pressed the pause button. Trust China at your own peril. Right now, they need a breather to focus all their attention on Taiwan.

People should be aware that the unit currency fro BRICS is only for trade among the countries and while the local currencies still exist. The currency is not for the people but the governments of these countries

Prof. Nalapat is having macro view as far as TN politics is concerned and is not on tune with the reality. AIDMK leaders call themselves “Bangalikal” (relatives) of DMK men. They openly challenged BJP and declared that BJP won’t win a single seat on its own. Even in the last assembly elections they behaved like big brother and ensured that BJP didn’t win more than a handful of seats. Vote transfer didn’t happen. In the Erode(east) by election they kept BJP out of campaign but sought its help to get the support of OPS faction. Prof. Nalapat, please understand that ADMK is not a reliable ally. Ideologically they are with DMK, not with BJP.

Indian businesses have to understand that they have to perform in the manufacturing sector or perish and they must not expect the Centre to loosen the Chinese imports. If at all, Chinese imports may be allowed in the short term . Indian manufacturing sector has to perform and soon if Atma nirbhar has to Succeed.

India should closely watch the US elections. Based on the results there is a possibility to work with US, India and Russia as a coalition rather than the BRICS structure which is not a viable partnership.

Shah Reza Pahalvi of Iran was pushed out of Iran in 22.Feb 1979 because of his suppression of the opposition and the brutal practice of SAVAK, the intellingent agency of Shah. The opposition to Shah was brewing for a quite long time. Shah had no support from the middle class and the bazaris. Particularly the bazaris who have strong influence, supported Khomeni. Very interesting and informative show.
First, Regarding what he said about Annamalai. My feeling from this interview is that Prof. Nalapat has a very good understanding of geopolitics and international relations.
But I think very few people understand Tamilnadu and Dravidian parties vice grip on the people of Tamilnadu. It has been over 50 years since the DMK came to power in
Tamilnadu and since then it has been DMK or ADMK that has been in power. The river has not changed that much in half a century.
Congrarulations to Mr. Sree Iyer was raising the issue of vote transfer. I agree completely with Mr. Sriram Seshadri that if BJP had allied with ADMK in the Lok Sabha elections,
they would have been trampled on and destroyed by Edapaddi Palaniswamy and his ilk. True, BJP did not get any Lok Sabha seats, but they raised their vote share considerably.
ADMK did not get any Lok Sabha seats either. Even in UP seats were lost because of J P Nadda's ill advised and egotistical comment about the RSS. It is rare to get a leader of
Annmalai's integrity and calibre in Tamilnadu and it is discouraging to hear such negative comments about him. It may be counter productive for the growth of BJP in Tamilnadu
as party with integrity in Tamilnadu. It is common knowledge that the DMK heavily bribed Tamilnadu voters during the elections.

Next, I completely agree with Prof. Nalapat regarding pretty much all of his comments on China. You can never trust China. India has to be strong internally politically, economically
and militarily. It is worrisome to think of what might happen to the country if Rahul Gandhi and the Congress come to power in India.
The warning to India's industrialists to de-couple from China is spot on. Hope they listen.
Also spot on was his warning about the West's naivete in not recognizing that Russia could be strategic partner and that by continuiing to play footsie with Chine the Unites States is
endangering it's security and economy.
I came away from watching this broadcast with the feeling that Prof. Nalapat should stick with geopolitics and international relations and not dive into state politics within India.
