Today I'm heading out to the property to start cutting up some of the trees and limbs the power company cut down on the front of the property. Got a good load of rounds on the dump trailer this trip.

That will keep the splitter running. Awesome.

I always have enjoyed a morning's work followed by an easier afternoon. I just like getting things done in the morning before the heat comes. We're down in the NC mountains, not far from Asheville, but far enough to be away from the city. I get most of my wood from storm blowdowns that tree companies cut up and then leave in people's yards to save the county dump cost. We had a fair amount of storms lately, so I've seen more wood than i can get to.

Western NY. Looks like that wood should run pretty smooth through your splitter. Did the power company ever do anything about the gate situation? Nice job on the video taking it seems like your hard wok putting them together is paying off with a better product. Keep it up.

I have power lines through my property. They cleared it about 5 years ago and screwed up my BlackBerries.

That dump trailer is sweet. I have a 20 foot flatbed equipment hauler that I built sides for. I use that to haul rounds, but its pretty massive. Once I get it paid off I'll be saving up for a dump trailer. I dont want to finance again so I'll have to save up for a while. Hopefully by next summer. Does your truck have any issues hauling that much wood?

I’ve got lots of logs from power company removals over the years.
