HOW TO Change the TIMECODE in Premiere Pro

Показать описание
Sometimes when you import a video into Premiere Pro (Adobe) the timecode won't start at 00:00:00:00, there's an easy way to fix that for an individual clip or for multiple clips. Here's how you'll change the sequence timecode easy.
Most times the trouble is that the video camera added timecode information to your footage and your editing software is adding that info to the clip. If you'd like to stop it happening in the future look into your camera's timecode features and reset the timecode in camera. If that doesn't work this is a super fast way to fix the timecode problem.

Hey, just a note. You could just type in one zero and hit enter. Also, whenever entering timecode for anything, you can use a period in place on any colons or semi colons if dropframe.

Thanks for the video, this solved the issue I was having with an audio track not staying in sync after replacing it with a mixed version. They both had the same exact length, but the original track's timecode started at 00:05:09 for whatever reason. Setting it to 00:00:00 and replacing it worked like a charm!

Thank you for the video. I use Premiere Pro CS6 on a PC. The "Timecode" option is grayed out. Is there any explanation or fix for this?

Ok I need one for frames, mine doesn't do this, somehow the project and sequence show the clips with frames instead and I don't know to switch it back to the default timecode, even when I try new project it always leaves the videos and preview monitor on frames, I'm hoping I didn't click on something to have it do this, but instead of the modify like you did there is no numbers to change it back to zero. Yes I know you can right click on the preview monitor but once you change clips, you have to right click each time its really annoying.

Hi, useful and to the point video, thanks, but has anyone tried this but setting the start timecode to anything other than 00:00:00:00? If I set the new timecode to anything other than zero, it will always reset it only to zero, not anything else. The reason I'm needing to do this is beacause I want the timecode to match a second camera timecode I had running. I'm on Premiere Pro 2024. It may be a bug.
