It's a kind of let free cry. Lydian is the dreamy type of happiness while Ionian is just the happiness in the form of being touching and relatable.

Lydian is a Simpsons mode. Major yet slightly surreal. Tear jerker would be Aeolian or Melodic Minor, or even Iwato. Phrygian may sound sad.

I think or I should say I am from the way of thought that there is no such thing as minor, and it is only a term used to distinguish a sound and make the concept easy to differentiate within theory. I say this confidently as each mode is related to another in some way, but certain intervals are accentuated to help make that mode distinct. For example: C majors relative key is A minor. It is the exact same notes, but the intervals that would be accented to mark its tonal quality are different from the intervals that would be used to distinguish A minor from C major. As A minor has the b3 b6 b7, emphasis is then placed on the relationship between the 2/b3 and 5/b6 that make the A minor scale distinct from the C major; but essentially it’s the same notes when looked at for face value.

But Mixolydian is happy having hardcore fun. And dorian is the mellow but still happy. Minor is just the hardcore devastation, phrygian is the devastation that makes you suspicious and can feel threatening and locrian can just throw you all over but if you emphasize the tonic around the minor chords, it will be HELL!!!!

Yea it's relative to E major and C# minor, in my experience many songs in those keys have tried to gauge that emotion in me haha

For me, I think that the C lydian and/or A dorian because of G major or E minor key, gives us more powerful and wealthier method.

OR! it could be that weird intro before the drums bass kick every beats before finishing the bar with that cymbal ring, and a badass guitar and bass guitar sycophanted riff kicks it all off.
