Also the chord progression from "F You" by CeeLo Green (written by Bruno Mars) if I'm not mistaken.

The melody is descending chromatically, which is wonderful.

"Oh, I need your love, babe. Guess you know it's true" Anyone else sang it over the chords?

In the 1960s, the folk singer Donovan released a song with this chord progression. I believe it was called Atlantis and had the lyrics: “ way down, below the ocean, that’s where I want to be, she made me.” I like how you use an Intermodel approach to understand the D7 chord in the key of C major. Of course, a more standard analysis would be to simply call the D7 chord the V7 of V. This gets me to thinking about the possibility of intermodal analysis with the other “V7 of” chords. V7 of ii is A7 and if we started on the note C, would have C, C#, D, E, F#, G, A, B, C… this isn’t any recognizable mode, at least I can’t figure out if it’s any particular mode. But still, I like the idea of experimenting by taking someone else’s ideas and applying them in different ways. And even if it’s kind of a dead end… It’s OK. One can always “make” this particular idea work by treating the chromaticism as passing tones, or simply leaving out a particular know if that doesn’t work. In any event, I always enjoy your shorts!

"Waaaay below the oceaaaan that's where I wanna be - she may be" I think it's a Beatles song or Beach Boys. I remember it on the end of an episode of Futurama with the 4 heads of a band singing it I think.

This sounds like the Indian Raag Yaman which has F#. There’re Yaman-Kalyan, too, which uses F# while ascending and F while descending.

Look for "Atlantis Chords by Donovan". Same progression. It was a big hit in 1968-1969. Cool song.

Isn't this the progression of A Kind Of Magic by Queen?

It's even better if you add a 7 to the D and make the F minor
