In this first full-length video, I dive deep into the connection between meditation and healing racial trauma, sharing my personal journey as a Black woman who began meditating during my college years.
Welcome to my series on mindfulness meditation, where I'll be exploring how this powerful practice can help with stress, anxiety, and trauma.

Meditation, especially mindfulness, can be a transformative tool for inner resilience and emotional strength. I talk about how it helped me manage racial stress and past traumas and how it can help you too, whether you're dealing with racial trauma, anxiety, or any other challenges in life.

In this series, I'll be answering some of the most common questions about meditation, mindfulness, and stress. I'll also be offering practical advice and guided meditations to help you build inner strength and peace.

If you're new to mindfulness meditation or looking to deepen your practice, here are a few tips that have worked for me:
1. **Start Small**: You don't need to meditate for hours on end to experience the benefits. Start with just a few minutes a day I recommend 5–10 min max. for beginners.

2. **Focus on Your Breath**: One of the simplest ways to meditate is to focus on your breath. Pay attention to the sensation of air moving in and out of your body, and gently bring your mind back to your breath whenever it wanders.

3. **Be Kind to Yourself**: Meditation is not about achieving a perfect state of calm. It's about noticing whatever is happening in your mind and body with kindness and curiosity. This is key especially when healing from trauma of any sort.

4. **Find a Community**: Meditation can feel isolating at times, especially when you're dealing with deep emotional wounds. Finding a supportive community can make all the difference. Whether it's an online group or a local meditation circle, connecting with others on a similar journey can provide a sense of belonging and encouragement.
