You know, it would have been nice if they'd had the _opportunity_ to _explain_ this concept _themselves_ so people wouldn't get their wires crossed and people were clear on what Creation Club is. You know, perhaps at a _presentation_ of some kind for example. If _only_ they'd _had_ such an opportunity. . . . . . .

How can mods be real if our screens aren't real

Thank you for this video Gopher, it's always good to see your views on these kinds of issues.

Bethesda has gone from horse armor to mud crab armor.

I think the hidden worry isn't so much that the mods are paid (we want to pay people for their work), but that this will be a sly way for Bethesda to eventually bring a hammer down against free mods and kill the modding community over the years. I hope that isn't the case.

you can clearly tell 80%+ of the comments have been written without actually watching the video. just raging for rage's sake. and that's exactly what gopher tries to prevent you from, so please: watch first, comment after

I wish there was a tag beside everyone's name, telling everyone else whether they watched the video in its entirety or not.

So now the community will be making them micro transaction content as well as fixing and feature completing their games for them? Bravo Beth for getting everyone else to do your job!

Fair point, Gopher.

But honestly, whether they should be considered mods or not, it doesn't change the fact that what we were shown in the announcement video was kind of... silly. Why would we pay for Weapon and Armor DLC/Mods when there are hundreds of great quality mods of that type for free on the Nexus and Bethnet?

I still stand by what I said with the previous video. The only content i'll consider buying from this program will be Quest or World mods.

I think it will really come down to how involved Bethesda actually becomes in this but I think their aim is some kind of community DLC platform. Whether they pull it off or not, only time will tell but it's a fine idea in theory.

As I said on the Skyrim and Fallout forums on The Nexus, 'I want the modders to make money and I will be using this service if they have the correct content on I'm not buying a single sword mod when there is tons I can get for free, DLC sized mods and Overhauls like Enderal, I will gladly pay for.' Probably should add FROST and Fallout A Tale of Two Wastelands on that as well.

In the future i can see Bethesda using this system to sell bits of their games, like armor and other items (which previously would've been included in the base game already) through this system.

Holy shit... a youtuber who takes a calm and reflected look on an issue? Not raging on, in a rant?
Amazing!

Thank you for actually paying attention to what Bethesda said...

Nice, it is nice to see you talk about this topic.

Fantastic. Now there will be over $1000 dollars in DLC as a standard. Hoo-ray.

Hiring third party developers isn't new or even bad, that is how we got New Vegas.
I think everyone is missing the real problem with this system and how it will affect the future. The REAL issue here is that Bethesda is going to add a "premium currency" in game shop to their AAA priced single player games, both present and FUTURE games, and it is going to be competing directly with free mods. How long before they decide that allowing achievements isn't enough of an advantage for their micro-transaction supported micro-DLC and they handicap the free mods even more to make their paid junk more attractive?

This have bad written all over it... One of my fears is it can lead to several cease and desist letters to modders who have a mod that is similar to one or several mods on C.C. or sites like Nexus that distribute these mods.
Since it is the content's of Bethesda we are speaking about, they would have a fair legal standing on this issue.

Why pay for an armor mod thats" Supported by Betheada" when I can get a similar armor mod for free thats of similar quality?
