The fact that she tried to gain sympathy by accusing the couple of racism was so disgusting to me. I remember a Black beauty influencer talked about how if it was an all Black wedding she would have been kicked out very quickly, but they kept her longer because they didn’t want to seem rude or look racist. And still the MUA tried to say it was about race! Just totally try to slander the couple after she ruined their day.

I went to beauty school and one of the first things my teacher said about events was that you shouldn’t stay. If you’re invited as a guest you’ll just keep getting asked to touch up makeup throughout the night without getting paid. I also don’t care how “emotional” you are, your first move shouldn’t be to vent on TikTok! Most people wouldn’t, so don’t blame it on being emotional.

Professional wedding officiant/minister here. I NEVER tell my couples anything negative on their wedding day. I put out fires the couple doesn't even know about. I performed one ceremony the day after a close relative of mine died. I'd cried all night and the morning of the wedding, but put myself together and performed a gorgeous ceremony. The couple never knew I was grieving. As it should be!

Guys I watched this and she noticed during reception that for an hour BRIDE AND GROOM WERE NOT THERE, Groom is Jew and there is some Tradition where the New couple are in the room in isolation and its holy, no unmarried man or woman are allowed to enter . SHE ACTUALLY WENT IN THERE TO GET HER MAKE UP BAGS AT THE SAME TIME, SHE SAID SHE KNEW THE COUPLE ARE IN THE ROOM AND SHE ENTERED IN THE SAME ROOM WITHOUT ANNOUNCING OR PERMISSION. AFTER THAT WHEN COUPLE WERE IN THE RECEPTION SHE ASKED THEM FOR MAKING CONTENT THAT WAS THE TIME GROOM WAS ANGRY SAID"NO YOU'RE GETTING ON MY NERVES". Tradition or not You don't enter at the same room of couple no matter how important matter it is without their permission. I personally feel like she was trying to be nosy to see what they are doing. 😠

Semi-pro makeup artist here (friends and referrals): I try my hardest to be literally invisible on wedding days. Will I pose for a pic if asked? Sure. Help zip up a bridesmaid dress? Absolutely. But as soon as makeup is done and touch ups if asked/needed, I check in with bride, make sure she’s good, and then I LEAVE. I cannot believe this MUA. it is truly wild to me.

Story time. I was a make up artist years ago for a wedding. My family and the grooms family had been friends for decades. I did make up for 5 family members the bridal party and the bride. After HOURS of work, they asked me to stay for the rest of the day. I stayed, I wasn’t a stranger, I knew lots of people at the wedding. At the reception a VEEERRRYYY drunk cousin and her boyfriend kept trying to “sneak” off to the BRIDAL SUITE to…..giggity. The family put it on ME to be run interference. They knew what was happening, they SPECIFICALLY asked me to stop them. Ok, Mission accepted, u want to go do your thang…go for it just not in the bridal suite… so so tacky... anyways I see them go into the room… I need to go get lip gloss to touch up the bride. They try again, I need to get the bride her shall. A third time…..gotta check my phone. The boyfriend gets mad at me. Starts calling me names but whatever, he’s hammered and I’m doing what I’ve been ASKED to do. I succeed in my mission.

Cut to the next day….the cousin tells her family I was rude to her and ruined her time at the wedding.

The entire family ends up mad at me and almost 20 years later STILL talk about how i ruined the whole family’s time.

Never got paid either. Moral of the story….whether you are a stranger or not….if you don’t have a formal invitation….dont stay. (Second moral….get paid up front…..no matter how long everyone has known each other)

As someone who works in cosmetics it is absolutely essential to deliver what you promise, work to time, ensure your client is delighted, and not bother them with any drama or negativity. Clients can sometimes not love something you did and not have the ability to communicate that they didn’t like it. Due to being too shy, not liking conflict, and etc. That is why it is paramount that you go out of your way to read your client and give them room during the experience to take it in and doublecheck that they are satisfied and happy with the work. The idea that you would be late, give your client pushback, insert yourself in their personal matters, or make any moment about you is bonkers, and so unprofessional.
