Fancy Rolled Leather Handles the EASY Way!

This leather handle tutorial will walk you though making bespoke leather handles in the easiest way. You don't need lining on the leather handles, you can attach them in a very simple way if you'd like, and they're super fun to make! If you'd like to see how to make rolled handles in the more traditional way, here is the tutorial for that:

Lovely little tote, when is the pattern coming out for it, tho? ❤

You will have the seem edge digging into your fingers if this is weighted down with things. I would mount it the other direction. Have you carried this and what was your experience?

Thanks for simplifying a new style of rolled handle. I'm going to give it a try. Thanks again pal.

I am excited for the basket design and pattern to come. I have not used rivets yet. I am one of your newbies but I am coming along. Started with your side laced bag. Learning to stitch. This bag will be the perfect little yarn basket for my small knit projects like socks. Thank you for taking the time to create projects even I can do. Thank you!

Thanks so much! I appreciate the cool way you de-mystify some aspects of the craft and make it tangible for rubes like myself!!

This is a great idea, and video as always. Is there a reason you didn't make the handle 'upside down' so the seam faces up? I would think this lead to a more comfy feel as the pressure on your hand is distributed by the round surface instead of the seam.

The bag is really nice, and the handle is really nice, but I couldn't help but also notice how cool your hole punch pliers were! Like a rotary punch without the rotor.

I love your work and would like a more "talking at the camera" video on design decisions. Perhaps you could showcase some features of your work and talk about why you made specific decisions. I'm try to make my own design for a leather bag and would love to hear more about how you decide what features your own designs should or shouldn't have. How can you tell if your bag is over or under designed (if that makes sense)? How much of the process is done with prototyping and how much of it is just your vision of what the bag or wallet could be?

I am gonna try both of the handle types lol

I honestly love the look of the rivets. And personally, I'm horrible at stitching so rivets are a much better option for me since it will be my sturdy than my stitching would be lol

Over the 30+ years of knowing Bernie Samson at Samson harness shop. I’ve watched him on many occasions make rein rounds . Where they are perfectly round . But he also has the tools and fifty years of experience too .

I love the look-I wonder if the seam on the handles facing down would hurt with weight in the bag? Do bags usually put the seams upwards? Is there even a way to do that and incorporate your genius design?

Great video. Where do you get your leather lace?

Loved this video! I‘ve done a few bags and I have a question. Is there anyway to hide the rivets for a cleaner look!

Where do you get your leather lacing? I don’t see it in the Buckleguy list link…
