Here are some tips for players who aren't great, because Jesus Christ this mod can test your patience if you don't know what your doing.

I would recommend Revengance mode ONLY if you actually play Expert Mode in vanilla. If you usually stick to normal mode, just stay there. Also, early game Calamity bosses are definitely way harder than the base bosses at the time, so don't be afraid to skip them if need be. (Fuck slime god.) Just note that Calamity weapons also tend to be stronger, so the reward is usually greater.

A lot of the problems that come from Base game vs. Calamity stop when beating Moonlord for obvious reasons, base game ends, its all Calamity from here on out.

Rod of Discord is necessary for a lot of fights. The Angler, however, is not, as the Scourge bosses drop Angler rewards. (Thank god.)

If you're STILL having trouble (I was, I'm terrible), get a friend! Double the firepower always helps. Nurse cheesing can also work but stops being useful right after Providence.

I don't know the exact tier list for classes in the mod, but it seems to be Melee=Ranged=Magic>Summoner>>>Rouge, until late game where it balances out a lot more. Summoner is worth looking into because you can focus on dodging while your goons deal with the enemies. Also post Moonlord summons are hilariously overpowered compared to base game.

Finally, remember that you don't have to prove yourself to anyone. If somethings frustrating, either close the game or just do something else. Jesus, I know I have.

Perennial ore only spawns after killing plantera, killing calamitas alone won't spawn it, but will still unlock abyss drops.

Really like how well this is put together! Side note, Rage's upgrades have much larger effects in Deathmode than in Revengeance.

I've been struggling with summoner for so long because i had no idea about the damage reduction when not using summoning weapons. Thank you so much for shining light on that!

sick video, i love this whole informational format and wish it was easier to have more for new calamity players- just updates so often its hard to keep up ahaha. would be cool to see more stuff like this in the future, perhaps individualized for certain parts of the mod that are frequently struggled with like skelly prime. again, well done!

Keep in mind you WILL have trouble with bosses. I'm a dev and even I have a lot of trouble with bosses and I'm a Rev Only player. If you are having trouble you can get the Rev Disabler or have a normal or expert playthrough and practice the fights.

In Rev, money is also typically not a problem at all. Also be careful when Zerging as well because items WILL start despawning if too many are on the ground.

I’m going to start my first calamity run without cheats (antisocial, more accessory slots, armor social) and I’m also going to be trying it death mode, god I’m terrified I’ve never tried a death mode boss without endgame gear or weapons from other wish me luck! If this gets attention I will keep you updated!

Well I guess 3 likes is good enough so far I’ve reached hard mode and for my skill level with the right gear death mode isn’t all that bad and I’m able to kill bosses in about 5 tries
(Slime god only took 4 and I didn’t use an arena which surprises me seeing as I can’t beat that thing till I’m cheating or have hard mode gear lol)

Ive beat the mech bosses and cryogen as well as aquatic scourge! I'm trying to take this nice and slow and take time to gear up. (I also got the SHPC from the destroyer and used a hoik loop to get burden breaker from dungeon guardian everything going well!
