For house warming you could combine some of your ideas. Hang sheets of bubble wrap like curtains. (windows or genkan) They can be rolled up and stored when not being used. Easier than sticking stuff to walls or windows. 2 overlapping layers will work, three is better. They also let light in which is an aesthetic bonus. Just a thought.

i was looking at a house for sale in osaka and right after i went thru the front door i noticed it was colder inside the house than outside. It was a 3 story surrounded by other houses and got zero sun to warm it. Japan houses are probably why hawaii is their number 1 tourist destination. Even worse than no insulation is the 3rd story of all the houses i've looked at don't have a bathroom on the same floor as the bedrooms and you have to navigate down a crazy steep staircase in the middle of the night to use the bathroom

Another tip is to turn the heating down a notch or three and point an electric fan up at a wall to push the warm rising air round back down to where you are sitting…makes at least a 2 degree difference
