Are you a Beginner, Intermediate or Advanced player?

In this video, I attempt to explain the main stages of guitar using the format of Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced stages. I also explain why I choose to have an Improver level, and the benefits students who follow this method have found.

This learning structure is perfect for those who want to play guitar for fun and pleasure while still making good progress on the instrument.

I’ve been playing guitar on and off for over 20 years now and fall between beginner and intermediate because of exactly what you described - being overwhelmed when hitting the intermediate level and then declining. This has caused me to walk away from playing at least four times and sell my guitars. Sadly some of these were really nice guitars - one even very sentimental. At the age of 40 now, I recently bought a new Fender acoustic and a Nashville Tele. I feel more poised than ever to begin mastering this instrument, especially since I’ve seen plenty of evidence people are learning guitar for the first time in their 60s and even 70s (including a friend of mine). The moment I started the "inbetween phase" I literally stopped playing guitar for a few weeks. I was so confused since all the beginner stuff I was doing was not challenging anymore.
