In this video, I would like to talk about the PNC Cash Rewards Credit. This is a cared that I just became aware of. It does seem like it is an amazing card with a lot of benefits on the card. It also doe not have a annual fee so it will give to the max amount of value that you can get from it.

If you’re looking for an inexpensive card to use for routine purchases, the PNC Cash Rewards Visa card is hard to beat — especially if you have a long commute or frequently dine out. The PNC card offers some of the most generous spending bonuses you can find on a credit card with no annual fee, particularly for gas and dining purchases.

Cardholders who prefer to stick with just one card rather than rotate between cards will also appreciate the wider variety of categories that earn bonuses. For example, in addition to big bonuses on gas and restaurant spending, the PNC Cash Rewards card also offers a modest bonus on groceries.

The PNC Cash Rewards card is also not available to everyone. Only cardholders who live in a state with a PNC Bank are eligible. States with PNC Banks include Alabama, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, Michigan, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Virginia, West Virginia, Wisconsin and District of Columbia.

The Citi Custom Cash edges this card out as a gas card with its 5% category.

Unless this PNC card is your only card, the $8, 000 cap means nothing.
Just use it for gas.
Hardly anybody spends anywhere near $8, 000 on gas every year.
Anybody who buys gas needs this card. It's that simple.

If you go through Credit Karma then the signup bonus goes up to $150.

Look at this way. In terms of the $100 bonus; if you didn't get the bonus, you have to spend $2, 500 in order to reach the gifted amount

Data point- I was preselected for this card and decided to give it a shot bc of the 4% gas and no AF. (Wanted to increase my overall limits and maintain a lower utilization %). Approved right away with a $200 sign up bonus for first 1k spend. It’s a visa signature card as well

That’s pretty good card to recommend for someone who just wants a single card setup. College kids could really benefit from this as most of their expense is food and gas

Excellent gas card! That $8000 limits it quite a bit but $100 a week (higher than most budgets is $5200/year. Even $150/week higher multi car families is $7800. You can dedicate to a category since it’s no AF card. Love it!! Only card that compares is Costco card, but you have to wait to the end of the year for those rewards.

Idk why I don’t like having the random cards really. I just like having the name brand cards

The earning structure is very similar to the Costco card. The differences are that the Costco cards also offers 3% back on travel and 2% back on Costco (rather than groceries). The 4% back on gas is capped at $6, 000 on the Costco card. Cash back on the other Costco card categories is unlimited. And the Costco card has no foreign transaction fee.

I think the PNC card is a good choice for an all-purpose everyday card, if your spending is on the lower end (as Matt mentioned in the video). However, it’s not available in some states, including California.

This is my most used card. I agree that the 8, 000 cap would be a problem for a lot of people, although it isn't for me. I use this card for gas & dining only & I do not reach the cap. I think that dining would push a lot of people over the limit, but if someone used this card for gas only, that could be 8k per year on gas. That equals $666 per month on gas. How many people actually spend that much on gas alone? I'm guessing that it's a very small percentage of people who spend more than $666 per month on gas. Although someone might have another card that gets more than 4% on gas, in which case they might not have any reason to use this card.

Looks like a decent cash back credit card option and it is definitely a benefit that it has no annual fee.

Just okay, I think its best to go with Ducks unlimited or a combo of the Freedom/Discover It.
