Meet the mushroom farmer - Fresh stories from the farm

When she was eight years old, Jess Toth’s parents decided to transform their family’s free range chicken farm into a mushroom one – and they haven’t looked back since. Now Growing Systems Manager at Costa Casuarina, WA, Jess has been farming mushrooms for more than 10 years.

From severe drought to devastating bushfires and Coronavirus, Jess and her team have had to overcome many challenges, and still aim to produce about 76 tonnes of mushrooms a week.

Jess shares why she is positive for the future of Costa Casuarina and how important her team is to the business, “...our amazing team get through it with laughs, smiles and lots of hard work,” says Jess.
