I did this stuffing recipe with a few extra spices and added a little peppers. It turned out fantastic

Stuffing is one of my favorite craving foods ever. Like stuffing is the best, whether store brought or homemade, but of course homemade stuffing always wins.

This is just like my grams recipe. Minus the celery. And she seasons hers with poultry seasoning, it has multiple herbs in it, including sage. It's delicious! 🤤

The best, simplest, most old fashioned stuffing you can easily find is that found in old Betty Crocker cookbooks. Foolproof.

Perfect recipe simple and easy. Maybe a little parsley and rosemary that's it.

I'm making this recipe next week. I have boxed stuffing too, so I'll tweak it too with this recipe.

use stale artisan white bread or crusty Italian or french bread in place of the white bread then add chopped carrots to the celery and onion when sauteing and then add finely chopped fresh sage, thyme and rosemary to the celery and onion mixture just before its done and then add bell poultry seasoning with the dry spices add it all to the bowl mix then add chicken or turkey stock... their grandmothers stuffing will taste even better

Thanksgiving was the best. My mom didn't use this recipe but her stuffing was the bomb diggity.

Things ive learned from making this recipe.
1. To dry the sliced bread put in oven for 25 mins at 400 temp. (It fully dries out the bread and no long cooling period needed.
2. You need more than 2 cups of broth. The bread should be fully soaked so dont be afraid to add a bit more.

We forgot to buy the Pepperidge Farm stuffing - so we're giving this a try. Even used some fresh sage from my garden (one of the few things out there that isn't frozen!!!). Thanks for saving Christmas!!! :-)

The only thing I do differently is to mix the egg and seasonings with the chicken broth and then mix it with the bread crumbs.

my nana left out onions (i'm allergic) but added green and red peppers - she also didn't toast the bread - momma made it this way also.. to this day even my grandkids love it.. i love the bread dressing way more than the cornbread - however - i do like the cornbread.. they just used salt and pepper - i like to add a bit of sage... :)

I use turkey broth, fresh garlic, rosemary, sage, thyme, and parsley.

I don't think my mother ever used eggs in her dressing, so I've omitted the eggs and I thought 2 cups of broth was a lot, so I used less, just enough to lightly moisten.

If you toast the bread, isn't it dry already? Why do you have to start days ahead if you are toasting it?
