Massive Wildfire Near Yosemite Is Most Volatile This Season

A dangerous wildfire is blazing in California, threatening to destroy thousands of homes. The “Oak Fire” broke out Friday near Yosemite and has already destroyed at least 10 structures. The wildfire is fueled by drought conditions. Two thousand firefighters are on the ground but the fire is still blazing out of control.

These fires are overwhelming for both residents and animal residents, thank you for the hard working fire responders in this heat vs that fire heat. We left tahoe this weekend and that smoke smother tahoe and as we came home to sacramento it followed us home. Can't imagine the yosemite area

As compared to last year's fire around Mt Shasta this fire is rather small. This fire has burned around 14k acres, last year's fire complex around Mt Shasta burned over one million. I get why they report on the this fire as it's impacting way more people than Mt Shasta's fire last year.

The US needs to invest in purpose built water bombers like the CL-415.
It has been shown that getting water onto the fire within an hour of ignition drastically reduces the extent of the blaze and some smaller fires have been put out from the air alone.
Scooping from nearby reservoirs over and over again can put more water on a fire than a large 747 tanker in a day.

Where did the alloy rims go on that car? Melted? Check other footage of the area from locals. Drone footage maybe. Bet you’d see some melted alloy rims solidified in a liquid running pattern. You might even see houses reduced to ash with trees still Green right next to it.
