Thanks again Justin! So pleased that you gave this kit a second review especially with the 'flash sale' coming up. In regards to my own observations of months ago. I've gotten used to the hihat pedal. And I believe it's basically an on/off switch so maybe that's why it's not Roland-compatible.
For me it's a game changer that the Donner kit also interfaces well with Addictive Drums 2. My latency (in conjunction with WIN10/Addictive Drums 2/an old Dell laptop/and a prehistoric FIREWIRE interface/ASIO driver) is 5.6 seconds total, even when recording midi and 2 tracks of audio. Way better than I had expected. The laptop's built-in soundcard was so slow it was basically unusable though.
One bonus with A.D.2 is the multiple samples of each instrument. To see what I mean, your viewers just need to start a light tom roll and increase power slowly and listen to the tune move upwards like the real deal. Same with all the drums. This is particularly satisfying with the kick. Unfortunately, the cymbals' choke feature is not recognized in A.D.2.
My only real complaint as of today is that, after about 30 hours use, the Donner's headphone amp lost its low frequencies from about 250 down. I know it's the amp because the line-out still supplies the full range when fed into a console.

Just got the kit with the throne, headset, sticks, etc. and a donner e-drum amp w/ bluetooth for 458. The amp is 170 on amazon so I think it's a great deal. I'm new to drumming and this is my first kit so I think I will upgrade the module eventually, thanks for letting us know it's possible.

Thank you for this updated video. I had a 20 yrold Roland TD-10 kit and sold it.
Wish i hadn't, but oh well.
Now I'm in the market to buy something else something smaller and more compact.
I'm so glad you hooked up the TD-17 module !
I was hoping to see if everything would work.All and All except the HiHat pedal.
I also use EZ-Drummer and was glad to see they fixed that USB MIDI problem.

Wow. This looks like a cool little kit - especially for he price. I thought several of the kits on the module sounded really good. This looks like it would be a phenomenal kit for a beginner to start out on, and maybe cool too, for anyone in need of a quiet and compact solution for their music studio / music room, whatever. I like it. I like Donner guitars to. For the price, they give you something decent.

Got this kit about a year and a half ago, it was pretty good except for the high-hat. The rubber from the inside of the high-hat cracked and eventually broke off.

You can get alot of used Roland modules for less than $300. Combined with this you'd have a nice little kit.

Very cool. Can you adjust the threshold on the snare in the brain? I think the TD-20 had 83 dynamic hits on it's snare trigger, which in 2004 was sick.
