In this short, Jake talks about a recent event he played at CommandFest LA, Secret Lair Sealed. This unique event gives players an opportunity to play sealed, but instead of 6 play booster packs, you get 4 and two, random Secret Lair products, and then you build your deck from there. As always, thank you for watching.

It's way for them to get product out of storage instead of destroying them. But it also goes against their claim that these products will not be offered again outside of their availability window. I think original slogan was something akin to "miss one and it's gone".

I have at most sealed 200 boxes and envelopes of Secret Lair. That would be fun, to play sealed Secret Lair. The cost will be an issue. Even if we stick to $29.99 for non-foil version. All Secret Lairs are not even in numbers. Some come in 3, 4 and 5. I have to look what I have and guess what I have enough of 8 players. 2 Secret Lairs of 4 and 5 cards respectively for each of the 8 players. For $479.84 total. Buy-In will be $75 including a snack and drink for each. My buddy wants a beer. He can have a Mulvaney Beer.

One of my favorite custom limited events I did was a masters limited. A few packs from each masters sets to celebrate the end of the masters products with double masters.

This sounds cool I'd do it for the chance at a cool secret lair.

I would have liked Gonlingram more if it had the whole rules text

I would absolutely not do this. I have a strong stance against secret lair for many reasons. Including the confusion caused by textless treatments and weird templating or font choices. The price is also ridiculous. $40 for 4 cards is not typically what I want to spend. Maybe if it was 8. And for basics...I don't even know how many they actually need to include to get it to a reasonable enough spot for me to want to purchase. But I would rather they go back to something like From The Vault, which went through retailers at an initial MSRP and contained 15 cards. All premium foils. None of those babies curl. You could get them for like $35 back in the day. See the big difference? But $100 is just way too much to dump on a sealed event that is likely to tick me off even further because some of the secret lairs have next to no value on the secondary market and it's likely that the ones they couldn't sell are the ones you're getting

Those secret lair cards in this video were some of the ugliest cards I have ever seen.
