The refreshed 2025 Taycan seems to have added some serious range and charging speed increases! What do you think the new Taycan 4S might be able to achieve on the Edmunds EV Range Test? Let us know in the comments below!

Holy crap. 332kW peak charging and it put in 83kWh in 20 mins. That’s just bananas. With 300+ miles of freeway range and the ability to go 10-80% in 16 mins, that would make this equivalent to a gas car on a road trip.

Its close to perfection. Porsche just has everything: Design, engineering, build quality and heritage. And the loading speed is very impressive!

15-20% more efficient with a 10-15% bigger battery is a nice place to stay for a model refresh. Hopefully they bring in some of the Macan EV infotainment and nav updates.

This is awesome. Porsche is kicking a** and taking no names. Absolutely brilliant. Now if Porsche would only put both North American charging ports on the cars; then they could just drop the microphone. If Porsche puts the CCS on one side and the NACS on the other; that opens the car to charge at any charger anywhere in North America. The driver doesn’t even have to think or plan what station they can stop at. All the thousands of chargers become fair options. Also makes A/C availability on both sides as both charging ports are able to do both A/C and D/C charging.

A dealer herre in England told me 107kw a few months back now, so I think you're spot on

Between BMW and Porsche, the Germans seem to still have an advantage in good-driving EVs that aren't merely good at a drag strip.

Without detracting from the good features and technical advantages of the new Taycan, I also maybe upgrade when available, I myself have managed with 2020 4S base battery version to consume 17kWh/100km = 27.3kWh/100mi without even trying, although in summer in Finland (20" tiers). Sure the average speed only about 81-85km/h= 50-53mph while many stops and traffic. The logic for me is the weight of the car, which I rank higher than range. After owning 4 years and driven more than 65tkm absolutely no issue with the range, but that is surely based on each personal needs. With long trips I enjoy some stops every 200-300km no issue. Great car and drive with smile every day!

Now we know. Funny to see this video from two months ago before they unveiled the specs.

This and the Rivian - the only car I'd buy over Tesla. Gorgeous car.

Thanks Edmunds for this informed teaser video. You folks are smart and a 106 kW battery would be a fantastic enhancement, as would the ability to get over 300 miles real range (except of course during cold weather). We look forward to its actual reveal and your then official version next video. Reveal on Feb 7th as rumored?

3:53 a little addition: Even if you turn regenerative braking to "Off", it'll still recuperate if you tap the brake pedal. So yes, it's definitely the most efficient option.

That is an *insane* charging speed. This is what we need in more EVs, faster charging. We don't need range optimized batteries, we need power (both in and out)

Wow what?! 203 EPA range for the 2020 4s and you got ~323? Very nice!

That’s impressive. Still 100 miles short of my Lucid Air GT, but it charges faster than the Lucid charging curve. The interesting problem is charging that fast only matters if you’re on a timed road test. Lately since EA has been improving I’ve found I didn’t even have time to eat or take my kid through the WalMart toy section before I had to move the car to avoid idle fees.

Like the refreshed front lights, always thought the current Toucan's lights are a bit ugly.
