Back in 1992 Everton were a massive club. Just five years since their last league title, top six for most of the seasons since. New owner, brought in new manager, began laying off staff to 'streamline' and then announced a futuristic 100, 000 seat stadium that was going to be the Wembley of the North and would be ready by 1997.Thirty years on and the club have never recovered. Good luck Manchester United fans.

Jim Ratcliffe admitted in his interview with Gary Neville that Man Utd couldn't afford to build a new stadium without taxpayers money.

At a time where the Government is cutting £6 billion from the most vulnerable people in society, it would be shameful if a penny of taxpayers money goes towards it.
