Skiing a TRIPLE BLACK DIAMOND!! (Big Sky Montana!)

It was an awesome couple of days at Big Sky Montana where we quickly put our ikon passes to work claiming bold descents of gnarly terrain such as the Triple Black Diamond rated run Hellroaring which we accessed from the headwaters ridge hike. The next day it was Big Couloir and Snowfields from the Tram and epic first tracks down z chute's powder goodness(not filmed), and following that generally rock drops, good snow and fun trails at every turn. We had beacon shovels and probes and some experience with us for this terrain. remember trail ratings are subjective, and this particular triple black was not as hard as some other on this mountain like z chute or double blacks at other resorts
I ski faction candide thovex 2.0s and also k2 pettitors, with rossignol boots and salomon bindings. go pro pov with hero 8 black
stay safe out there and shred on! If you're subscribed thank you!

A good rule of thumb with heady skiing is always be humble, don’t overthink the run, and with a run like this one, don’t frickin push your comfort zone cause you fall on this and you’re gonna get messed up.

I have a strange fear of heights where the hiking scares me but once my skis are on and I make that first turn it's go time! Good stuff!

The fresh pow pow makes these slopes look tame until you fall.... then good luck.

People don’t understand how committing some of the inbounds terrain is there. I lived in bozo for a number of years. Some great skiing there. Glad it’s finally getting the recognition it deserves, mostly because I don’t live there anymore😂

Edit:love the tallt sticker

Man, Big Sky's gotta be my favorite place to ski; I miss the days when I could afford to go there

I was at there a week prior to your days on the mountain. Had the best week of my life!! Skied some chutes and the snowfields. Just an epic adventure.

I am headed out on Friday sadly the snow conditions suck. Heck Jay Peak Vermont has almost twice as much snow and I think most of stuff I wanted to ski will it even be open. The extra team fee is BS. I am happy to see you had good snow. Timing is everything. Take care

It's wild how people get drawn to Lone Peak for these chutes that get scraped out by the first guy down while the Challenger lift offers bottomless glade skiing that gets overlooked by the dudes who would be skiing it all up, but they're looking down Gutterball or Big Couloir. The conditions up there look admittedly great on this day though. I've never seen anything like this at Bigsky, the chutes are always directly into a mogul where everyone's been hop-turning directly at the bottom instead of running out into a big turn. This looks like the conditions you usually have to go to Bridger for on a given day.

"This may be the most tragic excuse of a skiing video I have ever wasted my minutes on this earth on. I expected to see any modicum of difficulty and any cliff jump over 2 feet, but I was left with larry the cucumber saying at 7:04 at the most basic trick I've ever seen in my life. I would be shocked if anyone in this pathetic excuse of a video surpassed 5 miles per hour while traversing down a "mountain" on "skis". The hike up to little fattys was more impressive than the skiing itself. Anyway, keep it up can't wait for the next one! :)"

You know it’s gnarly when it even looks scary on a GoPro

Late comment but, I’ve been seeing a lot of people saying “this doesn’t look like a triple black” but here’s the thing; they rate it a triple black because if you fall you have a good risk of serious injury or death…. (I think lol)

those dont appear to be powder skis... they look to thin and you can tell they are dippint toes into the real deal because they dont have the hop turn down yet
