Which fractional gold coin is the best to stack? I offer my perspective on whether it is pre-33 $5 Half-Eagle's or 1/4 oz. American Gold Eagle's. They're both phenomenal, but is one better than the other? Or, do they both hold value in their own, unique way. Please tune-in.

Everybody has a quarter ASE, but not so many folks have a pre-33 piece of American history in their stacks.

I like pre 33 gold but I prefer new age bullion. Just personal preference for me.

Gold eagle to save and hedge my money, pre 33 to have the artistic value and to keep forever.

As a stacker, I will usually get the one that is the best price. A lot has changed over the last few months but you could easily get the Pre-1933 below spot before. I love the history of it as well. But the AGE is an important stackable item as well so as with you, I say both 😀

I still have to figured out what kind of stacker I am; therefore, I just buy whatever. “Don’t do that” regarding selling to pawn shops is a more than a suggestion, that should be a commandment! Great video.

If I had to pick one it would be the pre33 for the historic value...if the price was the same or pretty close .

Just got some pre-33 myself. I love them, but I enjoy both the new bullion as well. Nothing wrong with that! Nice video 👍

It depends on what type of stacker you are. If you want to "collect" coins, then you have to buy one (or more) of each. If you are a "weight" stacker, then you want to buy pure weight and the newer 1/4 ounce is the way to go. So know who you are before you buy.

Ironic that I just watched this yesterday. Today I saw the sale from SD on the half eagles, and after debating I picked one up over a AGE. It was only 5 or 6 bucks less, but it's supposed to be BU so I think it will be a good long term hold for a pre 33 coin.

If you're buying with the intention of holding it for long term you should buy what has the lowest premium today. Premiums for different items change over time depending on what it in style and trendy. No one has a crystal ball or can predict what will have higher premium 20 years from now. The only premium that you can control is what you pay as a buyer.

Me I love them both pre 33 and the AGE's but I do have more of the bullion.
On a different note, the opening of your videos is like a catchy commercial jingle it sticks in your head I find my self saying Staaacking Caaat.

premiums way too high on regular 1/4 oz bullion. Now it is better to get a Pre-1933 since you actually get more Gold for the money. They will NEVER be worth less than a bullion or melt value. If popularity picks up they will be worth much more than plain bullion IMO
