Lining up the side mirrors only works if the cars are the same size. Better to line up back bumpers.

I think this is called parallel parking and I avoid it at all cost although this is an easy tutorial to follow. Might give it a try

When vehicles are approx. the same length, pull up steering wheels even. Otherwise, rear bumpers even!! Backup slowly, turning steering wheel to turn vehicle into parking space. When vehicle is approx. 45° straighten the wheels and continue moving backwards. When front bumper clears the rear bumper of the parked vehicle, turn steering wheel to move front of vehicle into parking space. Then straighten steering wheel to move straight back. Stop, then move forward into center of parking space!!!
