In this video I am installing an Aftermarket Carbon Fiber Steering Wheel on my 2016 Mazda 3.

This is a beautiful carbon fiber steering wheel that really gives my car that aggressive supercar feel in an econo car. It is made from an oem Mazda steering wheel.

gawdammmmnnn thats nice! I was trying to wrap the fake carbon fiber in red but I could never get the damn airbag off. WIth your video I have a better understanding on how to get it off now. Thanks!

How do you move the steering wheel tabs to push the airbag off without reconnecting the battery and moving the steering wheel to a potion to make the tabs accessible?

can i still drive the car with no air bag at all or it needs to be connected or it will cause an electrical short when i connect the battery back and turn on the car

@Greg, hey I know its been a little since you've done the actual install but have a question
I think you can answer, especially with your electrical know how compared to average folks.
That being at around the 5:20 mark your covering briefly the connections and wanted ask you if that bottom electrical connector is a 12v supply?? I just got a LED steering wheel and what little instructions we got was laughable. From what my mechanic and I understand the best way to power this fancy thing is thru a 12v connection or else things will get really complicated.
Hope you can shed some light on the power supply and aka the bottom connector.

Hi, I'd like to have dedicated voice assistant button on the steering wheel. Can I swap the left command part/ the whole wheel and get it working? Easier, can I map aftermarket stereo with a combination of pressing like double press or long press of existing buttons?

@Greg, got a follow up question. Ordered your carbon fiber extension paddles and will hook them up asap, so this could be super obvious but how will I install the new extension paddles on the oem set up?

Would this be similar or the same for a 2015 Mazda 6? The steering wheel looks the same...except for the paddle shifters.
