I got one of those wooden chronographs as a gift from my daughter, but the brand on my dial is “Stay Fine”. She got it because I love watches and am a woodworker. Not something I would have bought myself, but I love my daughter, so I wear it happily when she’s around.

A watch brand name outside of Ali Express that I always found odd is Blancpain. It’s not a bad name per se, but it literally means white bread in French. There’s some history behind the name, but still.

I just wish that these Chinese watch companies are proud enough of their Chinese heritage and just brand their watches with a suitable Chinese name. Over time, if their quality stands, the Chinese name would just be as normal to Westerners as to the Chinese. I mean, Asian names like Toyota, Seiko, Nissan, Samsung, etc are international now.
