Empowering Women to Support Women | Nafisa Sagdullaeva | TEDxNorthwesternUQatar Women

This talk is a continuation of Nafisa's first
TEDxYouth on discussing the possibility of “What if we were not limited by social norms?”. In her
TED talk, she shares how she has proved herself that indeed, it is possible to be not limited
by those social norms. Some of the social norms towards young women, which she defines to
be almost like venomous traditions that have been normalized in our society. Nafisa hopes that
her speech will inspire young women to pursue their studies and aspirations further, but also
urges the important role women themselves play in supporting and empowering one another. Nafisa Sagdullayeva is a sophomore at Georgetown University in Qatar . She has a profound passion for environmental issues and a keen
interest in the role of international relations and politics in shaping our planet's future. Nafisa actively advocates for sustainable and responsible global policies, firmly believing that education is a catalyst for empowering women. Outside of the classroom, Nafisa is also the

Wonderful points, well made, Nafisa. You are very right that endless questioning from female relatives about "when will you get married?" "When will you have children?" is not harmless. It is the oppressed unconsciously continuing the oppression. I am so glad you have held steadfastly against that pressure, and that you honor your parents here for helping you in your educational endeavours. Beautiful job.
