Mike's videos inspired me to get into Goodieds. I currently have 16 Ameca Splendens from 2 different sources in a 75gal and have a 29gal setup for the fry when they get established to separate the generations and will eventually get a third generation tank.Their mating ritual is fascinating to watch. I recently joined the Chicago Livebearers Society and have learned a lot. Greg Sage is another inspiration.

Most the time what we think is a dirty tank is actually a very clean fully running eco system...I haven't changed my water in 3 months and my parameters are perfect...no ammonia no nitrates n staying around 40 ppm nitrites wich is nutrients in the water that your plants will love! Nature does it best!

Nice Video! Would you consider doing a video on Aluminum Sulfate? Several members around Toledo just lost fish due to the city treating the water with this. It’s apparently a spring treatment. De chlorinators don’t touch it. Thanks

Hi, just need an advise. I have a planted 3ftx1ftx1.5ft tank with 3 corrys, 1 ed tailed shark and had 6 clown loaches. there are about 10 shrimps as well. Since January, a clown loach died each month. They simply come to the top for breathing (I think it is kind of a death symptom) or rested on the filter for a couple of days then gone. The tank is seasoned and no ich, their bodies showed no wrong. These three are sort of skinny and other two are bit grown. All are below three inch. So, any idea would be a great help to protect the other three. Tank parameters are ok. And fish are in bright colour as well. Hope you would reply like you always do. Thanks

Hi, I have a question. So I have been struggling to cycle my tank. I purchase fritz turbo start and fritzzyme 7 and still this tank will not cycle. I did some research and I found out that beneficial bacteria like a ph level of 7. So I assumed that's the reason this tank won't cycle as my tap water is a 6. How ever, these test strips and master test kits only show a ph level of 6 so ny tap water can be lower, who knows. So my question is, if beneficial bacteria do prefer a ph level of 7 and higher, how do people cycle there tank with a low ph levels? I know german blue rams prefer ph levels of 5 to 6, so how are people able to have German blue rams being that they prefer a ph level of 5 and 6 when beneficial bacteria needs a ph level of 7 and up? Wouldn't this cause the beneficial to die with such a low ph level causing an ammonia spike which causes these blue rams to die?
