That's a shame, it can drag the entire business down and his partner and of course employees will suffer for that. Sadly he's not the only one and I'm glad that these cheats are getting caught.

FYI, this restaurant owner is a repeat offender. Just last year, he was arraigned for tax fraud and wage theft by the state attorney general.

I've eaten at this restaurant several times and it's very popular, always busy, but I'll never eat there again. All that money meant for the business relief and he used it for gambling and personal use, ugh, criminal!!!!

Feel bad for all the restaurants that didn't get the assistance and having to shutdown

More than likely there’s thousands of similar cases across the United States the biggest crime is the government giving out $5 million to one restaurant

Wish these investigators would also investigate the 92 restaurants that received millions in federal funds in the city of Alameda as well. Ive been counting restaurants in Alameda since I read about these "restaurants" receiving this money in 2020, and the darndest thing keeps happening, not only is there not 92 restaurants in the city of Alameda, its never been close to it. Lots of new business that arent restaurants though since 20.

This is why you don't bail out businesses. If you want to help workers, you do it directly.

What I found funny is when the guy said “Cause it’s fishy” and it so happens to be a sushi place.

Didn't they shut the one down in Daly City for not paying employees?

Who they really should investigate is the person(s) who approved of the loan/grant.

All those “small businesses” that leached money via PPE loans should be investigated next.

There needs to be more follow up update videos on YouTube. I'm curious of what happened as a result of their crime. There are a lot of people who took relief funds just to put it in their pockets. It will catch up to them eventually.

Im surprised the government is stupid enough to give 3.5 million in relief to one business alone, that should be enough to give to multiple businesses.

Wouldn’t be surprised if a lot of restaurants did this..this guy isn’t the only owners that do this when they should be helpin out their employees etc & meanwhile they up the prices on menus and add percentages to your total bill
