So, what if Austria and Germany united into a single country tomorrow?

This would actually change quite a lot politically in Europe. The thing is that after the Second World War, Austria was divided just like east and west Germany. In 1955 they were allowed to reunite but promise to never unite with Germany and stay neutral.

A lot of countries across the world instantly be in a bit of a panic and not because all the countries are thinking that there's about to be a repeat of WW2 but because Austria has an profoundly strange espionage policy which that Austria allows all countries to use territory as a base of operations for espionage with only one house rule, and that being, no one is allowed to spy or do any espionage shenanigans against Austria.

So if Germany annexed Austria then that open-door espionage policy would instantly end and there would be an huge international situation that Germany would have to resolve.

As a German (who is not Austrian) I would support that plan. Austria is the better Germany, and Germany is actually all German states except Austria and Liechtenstein controlled by Prussia, and I do not like Prussian mentality even if I have a Prussian surname

What would happen to all the foreign agents in Vienna? What I mean by that is that since Austria allows foreign agents in there country, but they can`t sabotage the Austrian government directly. So if Austria joins Germany, will all foreign agents be illegal?
