I remember one time I was 17 someone told me there was a driving range that was free somewhere so I got my brown stained gold bag with my set of dingy Craigslist clubs and drove over to the nicest country club in the city, walked out and set up wearing a tie dye and vans and hacked balls for 2 hours while I got crazy looks.... now I realize it wasn’t free, there was just no where to pay because it was members only....

I used to work at a country club. Everything g he mentioned is spot on, however most of the time I don’t think the members covered the guests costs (probably up to them) along with that, tipping caddies is also greatly appreciated. At least the one I worked at, the country club literally pays you nothing to caddy, you simply rely on tips from the guy/guys you caddy for

I work at the most exclusive country club in Arizona. It’s super private and super wealthy. I am a valet so I greet pretty much everyone who walks in. He is spot on. Usually the guests tip us on top of the member. *if we park their car.

I worked landscaping for a golf course, back in college. Early in my professional career I was with my mentor constantly drinking and playing golf, and dreaded the endless bs’ing since I had no commonality with those folks.

Thanks for the advice but I’d rather hang with my fellow steerage guys, drink cheap beer, and play darts.
