This is going to a timeless series. Centuries and millennia to come, it will continue to be watched and rewatched day in day out, year in year out. It will be a new and quicker way for the generations yet unborn to know all about Jesus Christ.

I think the important part is that unlike most of the disciples in the chosen, Simon the zealot is an actual adult, almost 40 years old. He has the maturity to properly understand more of what Jesus is saying, hence is why he learns to give up his ways as a zealot so quickly.
