Ranking the Harry Potter Books

In fact, Chamber of Secrets is one of the most important books of the saga.
Without it you wouldn't have the sword of Gryffindor which would be crucial in the last book in order to destroy horcruxes.
Here's where we see the first horcrux (Tom Riddle's diary), you wouldn't know about the mudbloods and the racism against them, you wouldn't know about Dobby, you wouldn't know about parseltongue and why Harry is able to understand and speak it, which means that you wouldn't know about the connection between him and Voldemort/Slytherin.

You wouldn't have the story of the foundation of Hogwarts and the mistery of the Chamber of Secrets.
You wouldn't have the basilisk which is one of the most terryfying creatures of the entire saga ( a Monster that can literally kill you by looking at you in the eye.

And you wouldn't have Lucius Malfoy and his character development as one of the main antagonists of the saga.
You wouldn't know the reason why Hagrid was expelled from Hogwarts, you wouldn't have Morning Myrtle and Fawkes, and so on.

And you said that the reason why Half Blood Prince is the best book (which I consider is the second best) is because is the one that provides the more information about Voldemort's past.

Well, that is also the case with Chamber of Secrets, because here we see Tom as a teen when he opened the chamber causing one of his first deaths, and here's where we first get to know Voldemort's real name, his past and motivations for being evil.

Chamber of secrets and prisoner of azkaban are literally masterpieces both deserve to be in top 3

Also Chamber of Secrets:

- Harry learns Expelliarmus which became his signature spell

- The first Holcrux (Tom Riddle’s Diary) gets destroyed

- The Sword of Gryffindor gets impregnated with Basilisk venom, giving it the power to destroy Holcruxes

- Dobby gets freed, who later helps Harry with the Triwizard tournament, and saved him in Malfoy Manor

Yess HBP is literally one of the best book and look what they did with the moviiieeee man. Also POA is also one of my fav books as it introduces the Marauders.

The mystery of the chamber of secrets is so fascinating and captivating. And it is definitely important to the overall plot of the series. Chamber of secrets is extremely underated

I agree Half Blood Prince is the best book because of the backstory on Voldemort and the death of Dumbledore at the hands of Snape at the climax was probably the most shocking and impactful moment of the entire series.

Order of the phenoix may be long but it had the most personality because of its leangth, it had everything in it giving it loads of life with bad and good moments with major climax. It easily is number 1 on my list

Chamber of secrets introduces horcruxes and gives the primary method of destroying them, it’s also the first chapter of the story of Harry and Ginny, it holds a great deal of importance
