Navajo code talkers were employed during WWI in small numbers. In that context moustache land and iron hat land make sense.

Edit: I did not recall correctly, first modern Steel helmet was made by the French, introduced approx. 7 months earlier than the German equivalent.

Spain seems to be phonetically approximated to words "sheep pain" and then just translated to Navajo, therefore imo "sheep pain" carries no semantic load

Navajo isn’t a language that you can learn like that 👌🏽 We have a guttural technique only native American Navajo’s are born with and each word is pronounced a certain way. The word can mean one thing but it can also mean a completely different thing as well, it just depends on what context you use it in. I am a Navajo from Nageezi, New Mexico.
