I have a heart condition and this film gave me chest pains as I jumped that much. I grew up in a haunted house after we used a spirit board in the 1970’s. My parents thought I was imagining things until the spirit actually spoke to my mum calling her by name. I had been grabbed several times and a crucifix that I was wearing levitated off my chest and hung in mid air. We moved out within 2 weeks of that happening. I still have bad dreams about it 40 plus years later.

I feel so bad for the Hodgson family, especially Janet. You can see the pain in her eyes :( This was obviously so traumatizing for them

Growing up as a kid not far from Enfield in the 70's I remember seeing this story in the newspapers and on TV. I was 10 at the time and I remember being absolutely terrified. When this film came out I really wanted to see it and they did a great job of capturing the terror in that normal looking house. Did it convince me there are such things as ghosts? No, not until my own experience in 2004. I was on a weekend break in Venice visiting the usual sites. One evening I was exploring the Rialto Bridge and the steps that lead up and down to the Grand Canal. I took a couple of rolls of 35mm and got some nice architectural shots. When I processed the film in my darkroom I noticed on one of the negatives a figure dressed in very old looking clothes hovering just off one of the steps. I was totally shocked as there was nobody about and I certainly would have noticed if it was there. I contacted Uri Gellar as he had done a film about Venice and it's ghosts and he said he thought also that I had photographed something very unusual. I would love to go back there one day.

Regardless of whether or not you believe in ghosts and such, you have to admit...this case had so many odd things for it to be considered a complete hoax.

I lived in a couple of very haunted houses in Amityville, NY. Anyone who want's to experience glass lamps being shattered into bits, doors slamming, your name being called in an empty room, sounds of groups of people talking, being punched in the back so hard you stumble forward, or ghostly figures coming towards you in the dark as I did can have it. There is no fun or thrill in it once you experience it.

This stuff really happens. Me my wife and three kids lived in a home with 4 apparitions / ghosts. There was mischief / poltergeist activity in the home as well .

Saw a horrifying shadow come out of my room onto the landing 2 years ago....it was right in front of me and after about 8 seconds it drifted back in. ....it was a one off....nothing since...thank God

The photos of her supposedly levetating looks nothing like levetation but like any kid jumping on or off the bed.Especially as they knew that a camera had been set up in there.

That's actually the first time I've seen Janet appear and talk about what happened. I believe they are telling the truth. I've seen the paranormal too so who am I to call bs on other people's testimonies.
