Visualization of a large-scale Molecular Dynamics simulation in CAVE2 - a Hybrid Reality environment

This is a visualization of a nanoscale glass fissure computed in a large-scale Molecular Dynamics simulation with approximately 5 million atoms. The visualization is rendered in real-time at 72 Megapixels using a GPU-based volume rendering scheme. The red and blue balls represent oxygen and silicon atoms, respectively. The green clouds represent electron charge densities. The CAVE2 Hybrid Reality Environment shown here provides a 320-degrees panoramic view, 3D stereoscopic vision, and tether-less head tracking and navigation.
