I love reverse recordkeeping. It is more satisfying to me to write down all that we did as opposed to looking at all the things we have to do and maybe couldn’t get to.

I really appreciated this simple advice. It was very humble. It's up my alley: take things slowly, let everyone adjust, mute outside opinions, and don't multitask. I've been thinking recently that a loop cleaning schedule is what I follow more naturally than having chores on a certain day. It always fizzes out. I think my homeschool will take this approach of looping classes too.

Hi and good morning (here at least). I am five years into this homeschooling journey and your advice about quieting the voices and time is so true! It has taken a fourth baby for me to quit listening to the voices but now it is so much simpler and happier in our home. We have found the flow that works for us and it is very flexible.

We also reverse record keep (and you are the one who turned me on to that about 3 or 4 years ago -- so HUGE Thank you ❤️)

For me, although I don't have a program that "self-grades", I have Easy Peasy all-in-one's Math which lays everything out so simply each day that I don't have to worry or fret. They have video lessons & games. We just do one day at a time. I have younger children and they often work together so it almost feels like independent work. I do have to check up on them... BUT still so much easier than having to read & explain lessons to three kiddos! It has been such a huge blessing ❤️

Reverse record keeper here as well, our days change and vary so much from one to the next and it is such a lifesaver, I can easily see where we have been and can just look ahead and see what our next step will be. I do have an overall semester plan but the day-to-day is fluid and works so well.
brain dumps! Getting it all down and seeing if my brain is totally overloaded and how to best delegate to the rest and what to drop because its just not a priority :)
